During WWII infantry and artillery units protected the harbor from here. Not my first posting of this area but I really like the bw. Thanks for yet again taking another bird picture to pp.

This is striking. Eerie...some of the textures look like bodies piled up. Mmmm...been working on a report all day -- must be feeling grim!!

Such a strong and dramatic image for this imposing place... the high contrasts in your b&w really add to the texture and drama of this shot. Very effective.
