Quintessential Maine Experience

Today we drove north along the coast to one of the prettiest beaches of Maine - Popham Beach. Then we drove to Five Islands for lunch. Lunch was either lobster (my sister and my gf had) or steamers (my choice). There were no other choices. The side to choose from potatoes, corn on the cob, or coleslaw. This is the whole menu. Then you eat this steamed meal sitting on the docks where you can see boats (some of which are lobster boats). If you have not done this you have not experienced Maine.

Yep... looks just right! When I was young, I went to camp in Maine during the summer. (Sebago Lake). We used to eat lobsters on a day out, with plastic table clothes and big claw "crackers." So delicious! This brings back so many fond memories. :)

such lovely colors. I like the deep deep field too as well. Down here a "steamer" means what I would have called a sloppy-Joe. Had to get used to that.
