Carriage Road Bridge by joansmor

Carriage Road Bridge

These beautiful bridges call out to be photographed. Motor vehicles cannot ride on the carriage roads. But bicyclist, horse riders, horse drawn carriages, and hikers use them. The bridges go over the driving roads for the carriage roads. Wish someone was up there but it never happened. I have pictures of horse drawn carriages up there and a couple of pictures I took looking down when I was on a carriage ride. Thank you Mr. Rockefeller for building the miles of carriage roads.
Beautiful! Love the processing

Everything's framed up so nicely in this photo - the trees frame the lovely bridge, the bridge frames the road as it leads off out of sight.

What a lovely structure, and so much nicer than the modern cement varieties. I can't imagine that a horse drawn carriage would be a common sight.

If you hang around, I'll just get on my bike and come from the right hand end! Wish I could - sounds wonderful and this is a great look at one of the bridges!

Nicely done Joan - I like the way that the carriage road has priority over modernity.

what a lovely piece of architecture... very nice in black and white... just a thought - did you consider cropping off the top third or so? so that the space above the bridge is cut off? when you do this, the eye is drawn thru the bridge and onto the road beyond :) if you scroll down, you'll see what i mean...
