This is the radiation table I lay on for my treatments. Today they did pictures as well as the treatment. Five down twenty-three to go. The thing you lay you head on feels like a sink in a hair saloon. Ouch Someone asked if I wanted my picture taken near it. I said that was just too much reality to look back on. Took with my Cell phone and I am very pleased with the quality.
Hoping for this to go quickly and successfully. Know what you meant about the comparison to the beauty salon. That's why I've gone to washing it at home and then going in to be cut (tell her I'm saving her time :) Thinking of you.
I hope everything goes well for you. Not a fun place to look forward to. A great attitude goes along way in fighting this. I am sending you positive thoughts and vibes!
Such an emotional capture Joan. sending hugs across the ocean for the 23 sessions to pass as quick as possible and you have great results from all this :)
There are obviously lots of different kinds of radiation machines. The one I was treated with actually revolved around the table so that the radiation attacked the tumour - or in my case the remaining ganglions - from all directions. How long are your sessions Joan? Mine rarely lasted more than a couple of minutes although the set-up extended the total time to about 10 minutes.
@vignouse THis is the machine at rest. It kind of closes in on you and does rotate around you to zap you in all directions. It goes really fast often seems like it takes longer to get in position then for the actually treatment. But every Wednesday they take new pictures to be sure the alignment is still right. Every Monday I have to see a doctor. But if nothing goes on from the time I park the car to the time I leave the parking lot can be as little as 20 minutes. I get done the treatments July 5th my own independence day. LOL Can you email me. Your email address didn't come over. I am lazy to restart the old computer.
@joansmor Interesting how the details vary: for the alignment of the machine, I had (and still have) little spots tattooed on my body which they lined up with lasers to guide the machine. Had to weigh-in before each treatment to make sure that my weight hadn't changed which would have affected the positioning of the machine.
