If you have followed me for long you have seen these two ladies in pictures with me. We went to Dimillo's which is a floating restaurant in Portland to celebrate the holiday season. It was Happy times because we were together again but it was Sad times because as you may realize one is missing. She passed this fall as I have mentioned before. We talked of her much like you would talk about someone who couldn't make a get together. No one mentioned it was our first get together without her but we all thought about it. So we laughed because Brenda would have been disappointed in us if we didn't but still there was a sadness. A little Asti Spumanti helped gloss over the sadness. Of course we all had seafood. How silly not to when you are on the water. I took 1/2 mine home for supper (Frutta di Mare pasta). Wishing you all happy times with family and friends and urging you to be aware that we never know when someone we love could be gone. (PS OMG that sweater makes me look like a small mountain.)
I'm glad the glue which has held your friendship together all these years has not been weakened by Brenda's passing. It's good to remember happy times together but healthy too to move on. This is a nice memento of happy friendships... and I thought you were looking a bit trimmer!
Special people are never really gone completely when dear friends remember them and keep their stories alive. I'm glad you still got together and enjoyed your meal even though you missed her. As you said, she would have wanted it that way.
So sorry for the loss of your friend Brenda, it is true what you say Joan, I never thought this year that I wouldn't have 2 of my fur babies with me for Christmas... still can't believe it.. It's nice that you still got together with your other friends though and what a nice capture of the moment.

Thank you, Joan, for the birthday wishes on Junko's picture of me!
