New Hobby by joansmor

New Hobby

Being about two weeks away from becoming unemployed I decided I needed a new hobby. I am making a hat here - not too soon snowing out tonight. Trying to learn about inside photography this winter.
I tried to learn this, but I ended up with a mess. LOL!

That looks complicated...are you retiring?

@taffy Taffy the company I have worked for has been sold and so I will be out of a job soon. So I will retire but look for another part-time job. Like working part-time and the extra money allows me to do more.

You know I will be pleased about this news! As Mrs S is heavily into knitting, sewing and stuff I'm surprised she hasn't commented. Perhaps she hasn't seen this... she will now ;-)) @s4sayer

Missed the start of your hat - that looks like a neat project. Was this something you knew how to do before? Great activity for winter time. I'm anxious to see how you come along with indoor photography - would love to know how - just seems overwhelming to me.

@milaniet I brought this loom at good old Wal-mart years ago. Had trouble figuring it out with the enclosed directions. But with retirement around the corner I pulled it out. Found the site Loomahat - watched video and the rest is history.

As for indoor photography, give it a try heck you don't have to keep the bad stuff (delete-delete). I used thins like black and white poster board (background for both these shots) flashlights, an inexpensive tripod, sometimes the flash from my camera (as in both these shots). Aren't you a retired teacher - teach yourself. Ask for help - I would be happy to help and so would others. All photography is about light.
