Cold weather option by joansmor

Cold weather option

It never got above 17F today so outdoor photography not really an option. So trying another indoor shot. Not posting a thread on this because it is too soon. My objectives were to get puddling shadows rather than long shadows anh to light up the front. But my biggest problem was angle of the camera. Though the vase was way shorter than my background, it came to the top edge in the first shots. Then I figured to raise the camera a touch and aim down. I lit the frount and kept the shadows at the base by using a small flashlight. I kept from getting a circle of light from the flashlight by doing circles while the long exposure was happening. Now this has been tweaked a little - especially cropping so I am posting the untouched in my extra album.
Looks like there is a lot of learning going on over there.... excellent, way to go - and you did a great job on this.

Very nice- it's a pretty vase to begin with but you've worked the lighting in your favor and the shadow is very nicely balanced. Good shot!
