Fence No 2 by joysabin

Fence No 2

A second lens test shot confirming that my kit lens (Sony 3.5 18-135mm) has sharpness issues.
Makes a beautiful black and white with loads of details. FAV

@miata2u I am very grateful for the fav, thank you. This old house and barn is one of my favorite haunts- so far I can walk around the property without anyone telling me to leave.

love it ...

This is like the finest black & white film photograph. How did you ever accomplish this. Even the grain of the boards is visible.

In what way does it have sharpness issues? For f5.6 this pic looks pretty good to my amateur eyes...

@domenicododaro Thank you. this poor fence is falling down and neglected but so full of character.

@pdulis Thank you so very much.

@octogenarian I was trying out my old Sony Cyber Shot. It has a really nice lens it is about 8 years old and bit slower to process but have always liked the Carl Zeiss lens it has.( https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cyber-shot-DSCH50-Digital-Optical/dp/B00154MCRO) I did process the shot through the Nik collection in Photoshop but just for tone and added a boarder but didn't sharpen it.
@stephanies I feel so stupid, this was taken with my old Cyber Shot not the 50mm lens.

@joysabin Hi, I tried the link you gave me, first in full, then I cropped it, and cropped, and every time there was a new dog saying that page cannot be found.

There was nothing else to do but click the link "Meet the dogs of Amazon". Try this! https://www.amazon.com/p/feature/d8j6je99gnx65bk?ref_=doa_red

But your camera wasn't there ;-))

@octogenarian Sorry about the puppies, I'd try just googling the Sony Cyber Shot- mine is about 8 years old and probably not sold any longer. I found this one on ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-Cyber-shot-DSC-H50-9-1-MP-Digital-Camera-Mint-Condition-/272603195461?hash=item3f786aa845:g:zTMAAOSwWxNY1S9t) looks to be great price. I checked the later versions don't seem to mention the Carl Zeiss lens which is what I believe to be why the images are so sharp. New Carl Zeiss lenses for other cameras I believe a fairly expensive. Good luck.
