Ode to Robert by joysabin

Ode to Robert

As in Mr. Robert Frost. His classic poem:
The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I came upon this split in the Karen Cooper Trail which is part of the Flagstaff Urban Trail System(FUTS) and Mr. Frost's poem came to mind almost immediately.

What a wonderful image to go with this poem. Beautiful sharp sky.

Interesting shot and good poetic reference. I think one of the best things about having kids is the opportunity to get a close look and an arm's length experience of lives that choose different roads than we have.have made different

Yes, definitely made me think of the road less traveled and choices. Well captured.

@megpicatilly Thank you so very much, I choose the left, less muddy.

@gardencat Thank you a great deal, stepping back and letting my sons choose a path of their own is a true gift.

@taffy Thank you so much, I choose to walk around while Tom (my better half) went to the library. I brought my DSLR and my cell with its fisheye lens- just ended up using the cell- It was a lovely quiet morning in downtown Flag.

@pdulis Thank you very much. The day was sunny and the snow from Friday had melted so our little Rio de Flag (real name too) was flowing.

@cscarr97 Thank you a great deal, I hadn't walked up this trail/street before, just driven and now I've got more to explore downtown.

@littleconnie Thank you very much. The trail curves to the right and follows the Rio de Flag. I choose the less muddy option and still found some cool places to takes shots of.

@stephanies I did, the weather was warm and the snow had melted. The fisheye lens on the phone warped it a tad. Robert Frost is one my favorites.
