Brutal Cut

There was tree trimming going on yesterday. I really should say, tree brutalization. The machine was being used to remove trees, brush and other vegetation along a road where I was walking with Riley, my dog. This Pacific Madrone didn't stand a chance against the machine's massive blade. So sad....
I agree, how sad

Hmmm I guess they are paid by the amount they get done. Very sad.

Sadly we have them here too.

At the very least, some bugs will find it tasty - if not the deer or other wild creatures.

Certainly looks like a brutal way to approach "trimming".

It IS brutal, the way trees are often cut. The power company trims large oak trees in our neighborhood with no eye for maintaining the shape or balance of the trees. B&W is perfect for this image.

You are right about the brutality of this type of roadside clearing machine. Nice tonal range in your image.

Cool shot and great processing.

I remember encountering these “trimmer” machines at work several times along Highway 99 south of town. They are indeed brutal.

@annied @joansmor @tinley23 @happysnaps @marlboromaam @gardencat @eudora @kvphoto @haskar @365projectorgbilllaing Thank you so much for your kind and interesting comments. I 'get' the need for trimming but the contractors hired by the power companies really create trees with reverse Mohawks which may be functional but truly ugly imho.
