We started the day visiting a flooring shop that popped up on Facebook with some sort of psychic knowledge of our decorating requirements. They were keen and a lot more 'with it' than the young man in John Lewis's flooring department so they are coming to survey our utility room floor. Then , having given up on the professional tiler, we went and bought tiling supplies. Cost a bomb by the time we'd bought tiles, adhesive, sealant, grout, grout residue remover and a diamond edged, tile saw. I think we are suffering from the opposite of economy of scale - you have to buy more or less the same amount of 'stuff' for a small area as a large one. We will have the same problem with the flooring....
Anyway - buy the time I'd started on the walls there wasn't a lot of time left for photos so here' my lovely new pot.
This is a very fine pot. Lovely dreamy colours & a beautiful shape, looks the perfect size too! A good buy I reckon!
Sounds like you are complete DIY experts....tiling is not that easy without having to cut them too.....my decorating efforts tomorrow sound easy!
Love your gorgeous new pot!
And it's so true about the economics of a small project by the time you purchase all of the equipment required to do the work. But the satisfaction of a job well done by your own hands makes it worth it in the end...right?
Love your photo AND your story. I'm sorry but I had to laugh. That sounds like something we would do..... have done, really, more than once. I guess that's why we have a supply of so much stuff in the garage we'll never use again.... Small job, had to purchase enough for a major one.
