Apologies for complete lack of artistic merit. I spent the day tiling apart from the hour I spent making cookies for Nigel to drop off with Rachel on his way to a conference 'up North'. We chose (foolishly) mosaic Travertine tiles in a brick pattern. This meant that at the end of each we had to cut off the sticky out tiles or fill in the gaps - either scenario requiring the tiles to be cut. We also had to work around a socket. Turns out you can't cut Travertine like ordinary tiles, you have t saw through them with an electric saw or angle grind them. I read through three pages of warnings in the saw instruction book before I got to assembly instructions which revolved around two diagrams, each an inch high and totally indecipherable. Well I used a bit of common sense and Nigel and I still have all our fingers and thumbs which is a relief.
Adam has spent half term full of cold, then Nigel acquired it and then I segued straight from annoying 3 week cough in to head cold and have been surviving on cold medication ever since. Hence lack of 365ing - sorry.
Beautiful tile and a fabulous photo! Looking forward to a photo of the finished project.
So sorry about the cold that has been shared by your family. Nothing worse than a lingering cough and head cold. :(
I thought this was toffee at first....thought you were feeding your colds! I have never heard of Travertine tiles, they look very nice & you could do something with the cut offs such as make a mosaic tile bird bath?
Sounds like you have your hands full in more ways than tiles...colds & coughs plus poorly daughter......I hope things buck up!! Great photo? I will be joining you decorating tomorrow but no tiling thank you!
