Another disappointingly frost-free morning here so instead of filling the camera with scenic beauty I took a whole load of junk from our bedroom refurb to the recycling centre. I took some clothes there that weren't fit for charity shops and was somewhat mortified when an eager assistant tipped everything on the floor for sorting. I had quite forgotten the all in one squash you in, push you up undergarment that I am officially too old to be bothered with.... In other news I had a thirty minute window of spare time to nip round the block with Monty (who had sat down and refused to budge for Adam earlier) so took my zoom lens as the only likely photo contender was another bird. It was a toss up between this one and one with a berry in its beak but the other was a bit dark.
Lovely crisp shot. Always love the gold ring around the eye of black birds.
You can have our frost if you like. I struggled to open my frozen car door this morning.
@humphreyhippo I've a feeling you can tell this difference between permanent residents and migrants- presumably this is permanent (yellow beak) so the migrants must be orange beaks. Our garden is stuffed with them eating windfall apples if I could be bothered studying them. Send frost!! And a saddle warmer...
@judithg Will do. ;) Must warn you - it didn't half mess up the trains today. Still, I got patronised by South West Trains about wrapping up warm every 10 minutes whilst waiting for their late trains...
Well I think a tip photo might have been interesting ha ha! Sounds like we are all having various senior moments Judith! I vow to get out of my bed before 8am in the morning, we have gorgeous frosty mornings & I am wasting them!
A nice clear capture. I forgot my 'pull you in push you up' garment to wear under my black dress at New Year. I think it would have been an improvement, so no you're definitely not too old!

Love your recycling story. A fun (in the telling) "Oh, geez" moment. :)
