Well I prized myself out of bed to investigate the reasonably hard frost only to find that there wasn't much at all in town. It was quiet though and the colleges have their gates open to let pedestrian commuters through. This gate at the back of Trinity is usually closed but was open for deliveries - and fellows on bikes - so I thought I'd take advantage. Not bad for a back door. The rest of the day was hijacked after I got a quote for plumbing/plastering/electrical work in the bedroom which was 3 times higher than I expected. I am attempting to co-ordinate different tradesmen now and ended up spending more than expected on a radiator for a bay window because it turns out I should have planned it well before Christmas....
I can't imagine living in a place with such architecture all around. My little town on the prairie is barely 100 years old, so nothing like this exists. Beautiful b&w.
I'm trying to remember the word you use for taking charge of building work...they use it lots on Grand designs, obviously not as easy as it sounds! The a great back door I reckon! No frost here either this morning, just rain & more rain!
I love to see places I recognise and I knew this straight away. Not so happy with the scenario you describe though - oh the joys of home improvements. I'm sure when all is done, you will be pleased to have gone to all the trouble.
