Lotus Ponds..

Thought I would share the overall picture of the Lotus ponds that we saw today... Unlike waterlilies the lotus are quite a tall plant .. they grow in ponds but these plants would of been nearly 5 feet off the water (not sure how deep the pond is).. they are really lovely flowers..

Such beautiful flowers....so nice to finally see them for real (well, at least in photos!) .... they are tied to so much symbolism because of the way they grow out of the mud and muck of ponds and reach up to the sky with such beauty. They are indeed lovely...
