Today is The City of Auckland's 175th birthday.. and in the big scheme of things that is not very old at all.. but New Zealand is only a young country.. This is the view I saw the other day from the City Rose Gardens at Parnell looking out over Judges bay with paddle boarders, swimmers, and divers.. over the cause way and the traffic is the Waitamata Harbour and that pointy Island is Rangitoto... a real icon of the city.. If you look carefully you can see the wake of a jet boat that was going through...
It certainly looks a brighter day for Auckland's birthday than it does here for Australia day. Grey skiers and drizzle all day and only reached 23 degrees.
