Orange Pore fungi.. by julzmaioro

Orange Pore fungi..

Favolaschia Calocera... Apparently this is an Aussie import.. It is such a cutie.. only very tiny the biggest being about the size of my little finger nail. It seems to grow only on dead or rotting wood.
Very cute little fellows - great colour. Fav

It is so beautiful. Haven't seen any like this here in Australia so if it is one of our imports it has passed me by.

I was having another look at this today and realised my comment was missing. I must have pressed enter(return) instead of "post comment". Too much Facebook,
I haven't seen this particular fungus here but that may only mean I haven't been in the right place, that is in the habitat for that particular fruiting body. I can't find it in any of my books but that is not conclusive either. My gut feeling is, if it is believed to be from Australia by the locals, than it probably is. It is a beautiful photo and fungus - fav. @onewing
