Today we took the girls to their 'Holiday Camp' ( our Runoff.. which is a block of land used for our young stock and the cows when they are not getting milked) We walk them around the road 3 1/2 k's away.. this image I took as we walked past the neighbours and the Horse came to have a look to see what was going on.. the cows were unsure what it was.. and one of our cows was not being very friendly at all and can be seen poking our her tongue..
That's a long way to walk them.....we used to walk our heifers about that distance when we turned them out in the Soring. I used to hate it because the never stayed on the road always trying to get in people's gardens. I used to have to go ahead & shut all the gates as we went through the the village. A real beautiful walk here...I can hardly believe you are in early winter! Our eldest sins cows go to the younger ones farm to lie off.
This is really cool - if only we could read their minds to find out what they are thinking. Lucky you managed to get the job done without too much rain!
