a view from an urban garden

Hancock Tower, as seen from inside an urban garden during the hour of the late afternoon sun. I need lessons from Chicago city photographers like @Taffy, @danielwsc . . . help!
@Taffy, @danielwsc . . . help! Surely I can learn to do better shots of Chicago than this . . .

Now that is nice. I wouldn't give you tuppence for the architecture but the mix of flowers in the foreground really softens the image and makes it into a great composition.

I love your idea of softening up the cityscape with the garden as the foreground. I would like to have seen a slightly higher perspective minus the green pole.

You've nailed it! You don't need lessons from anyone on an urban shot!

Wonderfully done. Great way to soften the landscape.

I would use a wide angle lens so the plants and buildings can be in focus. Also, keep the plants lower than the buildings, although this picture would work if you cropped out the pole and everything to the right of it. I softened my plant/building picture http://365project.org/danielwsc/set-ups/2013-07-12) with flare, you could do it with selective coloring or exposure.
