Liège (Belgium) Railway Station by jyokota

Liège (Belgium) Railway Station

Architect: Santiago Calatrava

The trains in Belgium are surprisingly old and off schedule . . . so I almost missed one connection and missed the second of my connections. But when I stepped out of the train, I recognized the lines in the station as the same as the Milwaukee Art Museum!

A sense of familiarity in a place I had never been before.

I happily spent my next hour photographing and talking to fellow passengers who had also missed the connection, and learning a sound engineer's perspective on my research I was getting ready to present. An altogether worthwhile missed connection.
Great architecture. They should revamp the train fleet accordingly.

This has lots of lines and perspective. It sounds as if you had a grand time with your missed connection. Most people would curse and swear!

Love all the lines in the photo that converge in the center.
Today's word of the day is oops...thinking of Nutmeg but don't know how to capture her favorite word! Knew you'd appreciate the idea!

Impressive! I thought it looked familiar before I read your description. You always know how to make the best out of less than perfect situations. Hope you have a fulfilling trip.

Sometimes those chance encounters can be so interesting, if only we open ourselves to the opportunity to interact. Great looking place! Great viewpoint!
