First, you need to know that I keep an Evernote file of best ice cream places around the world. I'm a serious connoisseur of ice cream. But St Louis beats all records anywhere: about 200 people standing in line at nearly 10pm. Each line above had about 20 people in it.
Holy cow (no pun intended), I am really enjoying this. I had no idea that you would take me up on this one. I hope the ice cream lived up to expectations. What an iconic St. Louis shot. You need to call the mayor's office and volunteer. Instant and delightful fav... for many reasons.
I love that you keep notes on the best ice-cream places. I will definitely be asking you if I go travelling. This ice-cream must be amazing - did you try some?
@samzee@vera365@pistache -- thanks for your visit and comments! It truly was delicious ice cream custard that made the wait worthwhile; the people who work there seem to have one of those stereotyped "no nonsense, order now, here's your order, move on" attitude but that means efficient service, even if you are hyperventilating when it's your turn to order. @rosiekerr -- thanks for the lead on this one -- our friend from the library knew exactly where it was and drove us there when I said you had recommended it. I cropped this image to only show the crowd against the building, but there were people lined up on both sides as well. Not to mention all the people all over both sides of the street and parking lot, eating that ice cream custard! @888rachel -- My list includes all the places I travel to, so it's quite expansive, from places within the USA to all over the world. @joansmor -- I have only been to Maine once so if I get there again, I'll surely ask you for your recommendations!
