Peterhof Fountains

Yes, you can tell the Versailles served as inspiration. The golden fountains glowed even (maybe even more?) on a rainy day.
Awwww...... It stopped me in my tracks as I was scrolling through the pictures. HOME!

@vera365 -- I was thinking of you as I uploaded this photo and I'll be uploading a few more of your hometown. Wait till you see the subway one you pointed me to!

Oh, I will be looking forward to it! About this one - I also think it is great that you came there at the end of the season, with the rainy weather. Otherwise you cannot take a good picture of the cascade without masses of people everywhere - on the terrace by the palace, on the stairs going up and down, lurking between the fountains on the way in and out of the grottos etc... And you are right - the gold does stand out nicely on a darker day!

@vera365 -- and I thought there were a LOT of tourists in this photo! There were trainloads and busloads of tourists from China, Japan and Korea. There were so many different kinds of fountains here that posting just one image doesn't do justice to the place!

Striking -- good capture of the water and the clear homage to Versailles.
