I've moved into the screened porch as my summer office, and I set up the camera on a tripod focused on the cherry tree and moved two bird feeders into it. Using a shutter release, I can photograph birds without moving much so they won't be scared away. Shot through the screen, it creates a softness to the scene. The rain can be seen on the lower leaf, and that also added softness to the scene. All that softness worked well for featuring this lovely little baby waiting for food to arrive. The parent would peck at the suet cake, then come and feed baby, and repeat this process over and over. I could watch birds all day.
Anyone who can identify this baby? It looked to me like all the birds in the tree during the rain were sparrows. But sparrow babies are more brown aren't they?
