I love the vibrancy of color in Cuba. Although I started by posting all nighttime black and whites, I have moved into my images where color plays a central role in the storytelling. I played with different compositions for this one -- square to feature only the central cafe, more to the right to include bright aqua blue light blocks, but then settled on this one because I like the "next-door" scene where you can tell they aren't a part of the central scene yet definitely part of the night street scene. I loved walking the streets of Havana at night. Processing a little at a time has allowed me to pace how carefully I can edit and creatively tell the story of my trip.
This is fantastic, Junko! I too loved Cuba and with your encouragement I will review the pictures from my trip and will process them, one at the time. Fav
Indeed awesome colors, especially for a "night shot." Only subjective preference, but I would prefer the bar/table only plus its window and a little tighter shot.
