Chusonji

The entire city of Hiraizumi is a Unesco designated World Heritage Site, and the Chusonji temple complex (established in 850) is a treasured site within this treasured city. What's hard to explain is the beauty of the buildings -- they were meticulously maintained to show beauty in the weathering. The simplicity seemed to exude a sense of humility.

Another overexposed-->painterly processed image from my broken camera.

To see a beautiful Noh theatre stage at this same temple complex, see http://365project.org/vankrey/or-this-one/2013-06-24
A stunning capture -- I like the lighting in particular and the soft focus.

@taffy -- thanks for giving the fuzzy focus a professional sounding name of "soft focus" -- it's the ongoing saga of overexposed by automatic settings.
