walk

For Get pushed this week the lovely April Milani gave me this challenge
' Here are three paintings. by Erica Hopper, http://tinyurl.com/k722dc4 Which one are you drawn to? Photograph how it makes you feel try not to duplicate exactly , Put your own touch on it. I love art studies I hope you will too.
Well I sure do love looking at new artists and soon discovered I love Erica Hopper's work.
I was drawn to the painting on the right, I could really relate to this blonde woman in a frumpy coat wandering into a grassy field, I thought of it as like a still from a movie, because you can't see where she is going or looking towards, or away from, she is kind of mired in the grasses. Unfortunately the location where I first thought to take a shot had been mowed since I last went past :(
but I saw the last rays touching down on the driveway and made the most of it, I was attached to six different shots so i made the triptych in line with the sequence of stills idea I had.

I nearly burnt the sweet tomato chutney I had on the stove!!! thankfully it was salvageable because I was using the berkley tie-die tomatoes I grew and its my very favorite recipe. Shout out if you would like it.
this is gorgeous

Wonderful shots. I love your explanation of how you got from the art to this. I was drawn to the photo on the right as well, but I would have ended up with something far more literal. This is a far better interpretation. Very creative!

Thank you for such a good explanation - the tryptych is really well done and the use of the base art for the push works perfectly :))

Having looked at the paintings, I also prefer the third one, but my feelings about it are quite different from yours. I do like the light and colour in your three photographs.

Really interesting to read the backstory to the shot and the way the triptych was created. It's eye-catching.

Thank you for the link, there are some lovely art works, that I shall spend more time later. Interesting impression out of these works and I guess that your area is humid enough to accommodate the fire.

What awesome challenge and such awesome response to it! I was very drawn to the women on left but I can see why you were appealed to that right one.
March 5th, 2014
fabulous light, great triptych

@kali66 Well, I liked the naturalness of the women's hair and of her surroundings. I pictured her just enjoying standing in the grass, seeing its simple beauty, perhaps also seeing some of its beautiful details. I thought she might have just put on a coat and gone out to enjoy a few minutes in the meadow, if that;s what it is.

I like the sequence of the shots here, feels like the photographer is creeping along the ground getting ever closer to the subject.
