East Providence, Rhode Island
I've always liked the look and feel of this old run-down home on the Wampanoag Trail in East Providence. Despite the vines overtaking the side entrance-way and the unkempt nature of what used to be a lawn, this house really is occupied. The history of the building needs a bit of research, but based on the architecture I doubt it was built as a home originally. There's only one door in front, so given the time period in which it appears to have been built - mid-to-late 1800s - I seriously doubt it was a school. It has piqued my curiosity, though, so a trip through the land deeds will be in order.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Looks like a definite place to return to! A great shot of this interesting building. As I've said before you always seem to find such interesting places to visit and photograph, love reading your little finds about them!
