Exploring Wickford

Wickford, Rhode Island
I decided to visit the tiny historic village of Wickford for today's photo. It's a holiday in the US, so I was expecting there to be a lot of activity that could be photo-worthy. I was stunned, however, at the number of people playing in the harbor. There were kayaks and paddle boards everywhere. At first I thought they were part of a class or a club, but that wasn't the case at all. Instead they were just families that had boats moored in the marina and were taking advantage of the great weather. It's a fitting end to a great summer. (In the US, summer traditionally runs from Memorial Day - the last Monday in May - to Labor Day - the first Monday in September.)
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Making the most of the warm weather! A wonderful candid shot Ron, now the question is, were you balancing on a paddle board for this photo? That would be quite a sight!
@lilminimonka Brianna, I have all the balance of a one-legged water buffalo suffering from rheumatism. LOL Seeing me on one of these would be worthy of a YouTube video! I really do have to try it, though. It looks like a ton of fun. Next summer...
