My First Kansas Burning Field Experience by kareenking

My First Kansas Burning Field Experience

Night of the lunar moon and a Kansas burning field all in one. I'd love to capture the moon as it turns into "blood," but I don't think I can stay up that late. Instead, I was excited to catch a glimpse of a burning field on my way home from a house concert this evening.
Two different colors of light source are wonderful. Also, the clouds in the moonlight look real cool.

putting this in my favorites -- so glad we had a bit of damp weather to ease the burn bans so you could get this lovely photo.

Great photo Kareen. We're due for the lunar eclipse here this evening, so all fingers and toes crossed the clouds disappear.

Was this a planned burn or random? Random here is cause for great panic because everything is so dry.

Brilliant shot, especially with the light from the moon and from the fire.

Stunning nightscape - well captured. We also can't see the moon tonight as its overcast and rainy here :P

wonderful capture of the fires in the night and that lovely moon. Our fields are usually burned later in the summer. Why do they burn them so early?

@johenn Thanks so much for the fav, Jo. Much appreciated. :)

@eyesmile Thanks so much, Gena. I'm not exactly sure why they burn so early in Kansas. Good question!

Fantastic shot. Hope the fire didn't do to much damage
