So unique to include a street lamp. We have so much family history in Topeka--very charming town. As a matter of fact, in July of 1969, my sister was at the university there when Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon. She was there for a seminar for high school students for German language. We were visiting her, and I remember how charming Topeka was, and hilly. My father went to law school there. To bring this full circle, you can see this same sister's photo of the moon last night here: http://365project.org/mbemis/365
@cejaanderson Jane, how lovely to hear about your family history in Topeka. I grew up there, having moved from Minnesota at the age of 9. But, I haven't lived there since I graduated from high school. I was in my old neighborhood last night though, performing a house concert and stopped at the Governor's Mansion nearby before returning home. And how interesting about the German connection. I took German at Topeka West High School and at KSU. And now, I have a daughter who speaks fluent German, working as a flight attendant for Lufthansa. Your sister's photo is beautiful, by the way. :)
