During Lent this cross is placed next to the pulpit at church. The drape is changed to black on Good Friday. We have a cross over the sanctuary exit, to remind us who we are departing to serve. But at Lent/Easter we have one in front as well. Christ Church of Oak Brook, IL.

Okay, I figured it out. This is from Palm Sunday 2 years ago. I play in the praise band and we had to be at church an hour ahead (the service was moved from 8 up to 7 AM). That's why it's time-stamped 6 AM!! And I knew it was morning because we're looking east and I can see the sun coming in from the window that's mostly out of the picture. I'll try to get a better version of this picture for you this year.
@maggie2@pyrrhula -- Thank you so much! I'm not Catholic but my church observes Lent. As a teenager I didn't really understand it, but now I get more out of it as an adult.
