This is the fire station a few blocks south of where I live. There are flags on their front lawn in memory of the FDNY firefighters lost on Sept. 11, 2001. The sign says there were 343 firefighters.
I am so glad the fire station is just a stone's throw from where I live. There have been many times they've come to my building with the EMT's and sometimes the police to help the older residents. It means so much to me that they're right there, always open, always ready.
