The Calder Flamingo at Federal Plaza by kchuk

The Calder Flamingo at Federal Plaza

This is "Flamingo" by Alexander Calder (1974). This is Federal Plaza which is about a block away from where I work. I took a bit of a walk at lunch today, though I went out without my jacket and it wasn't quite warm enough for that. As you can see there is construction going on around the building, so I tried to get the Flamingo from a distance. This plaza has a farmers' market every Tuesday starting in late May so I think I will have much more to show you from this block over the next few months! :-)

p.s., the Kluczynski Federal Building behind is by Mies van der Rohe.
nice reflections in the building

i really enjoy works of art such as this. not so much into modern art but like to study them, think about what the artist POV - love the color. nice reflections!

Interesting sculpture (but a flamingo would never have occurred to me). I like the reflection in those countless windows.
