I have no idea what this is! Update- a magnolia seed pod

I know it's pink . I saw it at the Morton Arboretum. It's in a container, which is in a corner of the patio.
Its a big fat pink thing, Elyse! I suspect it will develop even more!

@gilbertwood I have a good friend who works at the arboretum. I'll ask if she can find out what it is. I'm curious if it would open up more, or if it has already bloomed. It sure was a pretty day there yesterday!

@gilbertwood @pyrrhula and everyone- My friend told me it is a magnolia seed pod. It will open and the seeds will be bright red. So now we know what it is! :)

What a neat looking bud stage - guess I've never seen one in this stage - will have to be watching. Great shot and love the color.

I doubt it. The roof is not allowed this days( asbestos) and the inside, made of timber, in bad condition.
