The back foot of the koala is even more amazing.
Two single toes, and then a double toe fused together to help get ticks out and a thumb with no claw at all.
The foot works nearly as well as a hand, and is one reason they can hold on in seemingly impossible places.
@happysnaps@hermann it was really interesting to get a chance to have a good look and feel over a koala body while he was asleep on that vet table, and to see inside him with the ultrasound. We are very lucky here to have vets interested in koalas with this technology as it means we can diagnose so much so quickly.
