@brigette ahh I hear you, but in nature it's a huge thing - how to ensure you can get enough calories into you to balance how many you had to spend getting them (which is very different to an eating disorder! one should stay right away from anthropomorphising wildlife!)
the energy wildlife spend to get calories in must be spent wisely, and it's why I always feel dismayed when I see someone wipe away a spider web without thought. the calories spent to build that were precious, and if destroyed before they got calories back in, they have to spend calories they didn't have to try again.
every web is a gamble, will their outlay pay off?
