@beryl these are the moments when you never have your camera pointed and focused, or the video running.
Recently I had taken some shots of Krissy sleeping in a young tree so he was only a few metres above me. The lens cap clattered on the bike as I lowered my camera. He woke with such a start he leapt and slipped and grabbed the branch only just in time and scrambled back up higher. I apologised profusely and told him that at least next time he could let me photograph it ;)
I have indeed seen this happen more times than I would like! Your stomach lurches and you can probably imagine their little eyes fly wide open, there is that mad scrabble as they grab and swing and get back on top.
I don't think they often fall completely, they are pretty good with those claws. But Frankie was around 20 m off the ground in this shot, so you would hope the claws stay well embedded!
Got to love Koala butt shots. I have to say he looks to be enjoying his planking much more than I do, on the odd occasions where I do it as part of a workout.
