They play a vital role in native eco-systems and are a totem for our indigenous people.
They eliminate pests, aerate the soil, and the least understood value is that they stimulate the regeneration of native plants.
So when you see the brush turkey, or kyogle, you know you have healthy natives coming your way.
I am seeing them working through open areas of the property for the first time ever as the drought changes the behaviour of animals all the way up and down the food chain.
@fbailey they are incredibly shy, I rarely get to photograph one! and the sleep grouped together 30 m and higher up in the tree tops in my rainforest :)
