What a beautiful mushroom photo. I love the glistening leaves too. As it turned out, I was overwatering my new grass, the little grey mushrooms were everywhere!
Fungi certainly come in a wonderful variety of shapes and textures.
You mention damp winter mornings, can I ask what kind of temperature range you experience during this period?
@gardencat it's been much colder this July than for some years! Over the weekend the temperature lows hit 3 degree Celsius here. The last years I don't think we went below 7 or 8.
It never frosts on this property because of the elevation, but the land I look down over frosts, so that means they drop below 0.
@koalagardens thanks for the response. So you can get cold and damp but, at least without frost, you avoid a lot of problems like worrying about frozen pipes or the ground heaving.
there's a window! a fairy must live there. not a lot of fungi around where i live, if there are, the dogs would've destroyed them when they're let lose by their owners.
