the forest floor - the forest red gum is a huge tree, but the flowers are quite tiny and here you can see a host of old flower buds through to gumnut stage that are inches deep down on the floor

So many fallen flower-bud to add to the soil and to provide hiding place for all sorts of small grubs !!!
