I took these yesterday in preparation for next week's Father's day card. I can't decide which I like better and the kids have split the decision so I need additional opinions. Top or bottom??
**This was taken a day early and won't fit within the Fathers theme timeline but I thought I'd tag it anyhow.
To be honest, at first glance I thought the top was better balanced, but when I really looked at both pictures, the wording in the upper right corner of the bottom shot gives balance to the bottom shot..... but mainly, I find the legs too distracting in the top... I'm not seeing 2 children... I'm seeing one child with 2 heads and 4 legs. Maybe its a guy thing. ;)
Both such fun and creative shots! I agree with Jeff's @jsw0109 observation about the legs in the top image. I find the position a little distracting, too. Although, I do love the processing and the kids' expressions of the top image. The bottom one is great. I like the tones and body positions. I might make the lettering just a bit larger on the bottom one. Whatever you chose, you will may this father very happy, I'm sure!
A close thing but i think bottom but only for the reason that the message is clearer on that one ....both fab though & I'm sure he will be very happy with either!
How about using both? The one you prefer or most agreed upon on the front cover and the other on on the back as a smaller image? Or make one as a print for office and one as the card. They are both wonderful!
Can you process the bottom one vintage? I think it has the better balance, as the legs in the top photo tend to stand out more than the faces. But I like the look of the top one for its vintage feel.
Bottom. I like how their legs are in this one...I agree with Jeff. They are "astraddle" in the top one, and it is confusing. And, it says "Dad, We Love You" but I like the bottom , with them side by side and the more clear "We Love you Dad." The color one is more vibrant and has that "shot from down low" feel and more three dimensionality. (Is that a word?)
What a lovely idea - I can't choose between them sorry!! Your children look so wonderfully happy in the top shot, but I love the colours of the bottom!!!! Can you not make a double-sided card, with a picture on each side? LOL : )
Their expressions and the POV in the top one are my choice. I like the color photo but find your daughter's feet looking odd at this angle (crossed over) ...how did the top one look in color??? Both so very creative...I might need to borrow your idea...that is if my kids would be willing to do something like this! :)
you are so creative
