Gage attended his first swim meet of the season today. He won the 10 & under 50 butterfly and even improved on his time from last year. He looked strong here but in reality he's still so weak. He's only been training about 2.5 weeks since being diagnosed with Colitis. He complained of a tummy ache all day but I think it was mostly due to nerves. He managed 4 individual races and one relay. We decided to skip his last longer race and go home. He was asleep by 7pm. Since starting meds, things have improved but the disease is still effecting his quality of life more than I'd like, which breaks my heart.
Great capture of Gage in action. I'm sure it breaks your heart to see him going through this, but you must be glad they were able to diagnosed the problem and now is a way to recovery with the treatment.
Well, first, this photo is incredible. I am so glad to hear that he is doing some of his activities, it has got to be brutal to see him have to hold back on so much, such a frustrating and challenging time for you all. I wish you every opportunity to get back to everything that thrills him in his life.
A fabulous action shot! Fav! What an achievement for him to compete so soon after diagnosis. Hopefully the meds will help him gain his health and strength back!
wow ... thats great news ... as a parent I can only imagine what you have to go through ... but at least its falling in place ... this is fab picture ... great action shot ... one of those images that you can look back with a lot of pride!! FAV!!
Great capture, you´ve really captured an action abd the consentration in his expression. Sorry to hear he´s still not completely well but he does look very strong
Wonderful capture! What a great action shot! So lovely to see Gage back doing something he loves! Hopefully with the medication he will make a good recovery and get some of his full strength back! Well done Gage - you must be so proud of him! Fav!
will things even out for him eventually when the meds are all worked out? it is so good that you are doing things to keep life as normal as possible for him. And this is a fantastic shot! fav
Sorry that he's going through this health challenge -- tough on the whole family too, I'm sure. Great action shot. Knowing the background story also makes it a portrait of courage and determination!
He will need real strength of character to regain all the lost ground but am sure with your encouragement he will do it....he looks very determined here. Good luck to Gage & for continued improvement.
Fabulous photo! Great colors and action! I'm sorry that Gage is still suffering. That has to be so hard on him - on all of you really. Is colitis curable? Is there an end in sight? Sorry I don't know much about it.
I love this shot. I love the water, the concentration on his face and the reflection on his goggles. I'm sure it's going to be a slow process for him and hope continues to improve. Fav.
Well done Gage, and well done Kim for getting this incredible action shot, which I have to fav. Good luck to you young man, I am sure that your battles will make you mentally stronger, and you are going to need that when you are older!
Fabulous action shot - love your processing and the reflection in the goggles! So glad to see Gage back in the water - a step in the right direction - I'm sure the first of many! : )) fav
Wonderful action shot! Glad at least he was diagnosed and now there is so much more info and research being done. My mom was diagnosed with a similar (but slighly different) condition back in the 70's and we almost lost her because of the lack of research and treatment.
(One step at a time maybe?) :)
All the best for your boy!
I hope he keeps improving and the medication helps. Hang in there.
