Until I started researching for our New York trip, I thought DUMBO was a just a Disney character. It turns out it's an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. We took the subway into Brooklyn and explored the area including DUMBO and then walked back over the Brooklyn Bridge. The iconic Empire State Building is framed in the bottom section of the Manhattan bridge. I had heard about this photo op but wasn't sure exactly where it was. It was pleasantly surprised when we rounded a corner and I saw this view. Best views large and surrounded by black, if you have time.
What remarkable details and neat pov - Never knew about the DUMBO terminology - interesting. Love the way you captured the Empire State Building in that arch - Against black this is fantastic. Fav
Spectacular! We went to NY in January and this is one of the shots I wanted to capture but by the time we had strolled over Brooklyn bridge, and taken my fill of pictures, the light was fading and my shot wasn't very good at all. This is perfect! Fav
Excellent! Glad you're enjoying the City. Try shooting from the Manhattan Bridge walkway. Has best view of lower Manhattan. Go just before sunset. Go out to the first Tower from the Brooklyn side and find hole in fence.
Love the framing of the Empire State Bldg. Didn't know that view was there to be had....next time I've been to DUMBO, but it was a long time ago (though my dad did grow up on Coney Island).
