@lyndemc The background is a fabulous piece of flat wood I found on the beach. It's a 2"x10" plank I think that's been eaten by worms or beach bugs. The blue bits are little sand particles that got trapped in the tunnels.
wonderful textures. I notice that you use a d800. are you happy with it. contemplating a splurge and considering the D750 and the D800. Is the extra resolution worth it in your opinion or does it make your workflow more difficult with the bigger file size?
@marie65 I just traded my D800 in for the D810 and I'm loving it! It's incredibly quiet compared to my noisy D800. I considered the D750 as well but since I have about $700 invested in high quality fast compact flash cards I decided to go with the D800 (the D750 only takes SD cards). The maximum shutter speed for the D800 is 8000 compared to 4000 in the D750. This was important to me because I'm often shooting my son's sports in full sunshine so I wanted the higher speed. I'm used to the large files after using the D800 for four years. I actually think things process faster on my computer now with then D810. All the reviews I read said both cameras were excellent. I probably would have gone with the D750 if I hadn't already had the D800 before and all those memory cards to save a bit of money.
