Thanks for your comments/favs on yesterday's hike image. This is another... we took a trail down to the river's edge and were afraid we'd lose the trail on our return so we made ourselves a marker.
clever idea. a while ago a group of us walked over the sand dunes to the ocean and they are over a km deep in places so we used twigs from the trees in bushland close by and stuck them in the sand at intervals to mark our way back to the cars.
I love this view. We had a theme just tonight for photo club called "grounded" and the photos were similarly taken (from the ground level. We used to make these guides like this on hikes when I was in the Girl Scouts.
