As I type my baby is getting a colonscopy to rule out a couple things before we start a new medicine for his ulcerative colitis. The kid as been sick for a couple of months now. He's been in so much pain and lost a ton of weight. I feel so badly for him and just want him back to normal. I got to go into the OR (hence my outfit) until he was asleep. Now I wait!!
oh my...I am bad 365er these days, but I can remember when you first started to document your son's issues. I feel so bad for you all that it is still going on and can only imagine how stressful it is. I am sending best wishes that the doctors can find an answer to this soon!
Oh your poor boy. It must be very difficult for you all, but especially him, at the moment. I hope the colonoscopy went as well as could be expected so they can start the new medicine and your son can start to feel better.
He sure does look miserable. I hope you get some answers soon, this has been going on for so long it must be hard to stay positive. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a successful treatment plan.
Oh I’m so sorry. This is heartbreaking. I hope the new medicine will help him, for a long long time. There’s nothing any harder on a parent than a child with a chronic disease. 😥
So hard as a mom to watch and feel helpless. This has really gone on awhile -- here's hoping that you are nearing a solution to get him up and running again. Poor guy looks very tired.
Hew looks washed out. I know so well that feeling of waiting at theatre and having to hand over your child to the medical staff. I am hoping there will be good news and progress very soon. Poor chap.
Besides sending warmest get well wishes, I wanted to mention that the latest nutritional research shows cutting down on meat and dairy (sulfur-rich proteins) could significantly reduce the attacks. Perhaps you have already been through this, if so, just ignore!
Ohhhhhh- I just feel so bad for him! He looks miserable (but I'm sure the drugs don't help for photos!) Praying, praying, praying that this procedure and the results are positive and move him along to healing very soon!
Wishing him the best and sending your family a positive energy- Since I’ve change my lifestyle (2yrs now) eating mostly fruits and vegan, gluten free ,organic ,less sugar diet- and herbals- I start feeling great- my Gerd, back and body aches disappear- Aloe Vera juice, coconut juice and Pau d’Arco really helps clean my system- Avoid sodium and sugar- they’re killers!!!!
How hard this has been on both of you - it is so hard to see your child hurting. Hope all has gone well with this and they can come up with some better answers soon.
@joemuli Great advice Joey and glad to hear you're much better.
My daughters children suffer with allergic colitis as babies and she has so many things she can't eat while feeding them. She is a coeliac. I really hope you can find a diet that works for your son.
I'm so sorry to read what he (and you all) are going through. I hope they find a happy course soon for you .. they can do so much these days. My mum suffered with it but found that a few things exacerbated it and generally gets by ok. Prayers and good wishes to you both. (I've been in the OR room before my son's surgery too.. and waited after...glad that bit is over for now...)x
I've only just seen this. Hang on in there. A good friend of mine has a daughter with the same thing. She was so ill as a young girl and took major school exams whilst having blood transfusions. Now she is a happy young mum of two who controls her meds herself and knows when it's about to start up so she's able to self medicate. She is so much better now. It took a while to get everything sorted but the awful pain did end. I wish love and kind thoughts could make him better . Sending them anyway.
That's miserable. My husband is working with a company that's working hard on a treatment for ulcerative colitis at the moment. Hope the docs can help.
