I walked the beach today with my big lens for the first time in a long time. I'm so glad I had it with me. I almost missed this guy as I was chatting on my cell phone to the nurse about my son! There's a fresh water stream that runs into the ocean and he was taking a drink and washing his feet. I'm kind of shocked I got the shot as I held my phone to my ear at the same time I took this.
Amazing!! I love that he's down on the ground and standing in water. So many eagle photos are where they're up in a tree - which are good, too, but I really like this one.
@catwhiskers He's BAD.. really bad! In so much pain, it's crazy. He doesn't want to eat because it hurts. We're scheduled to start the new meds within two weeks but the stuff is very slow acting (9-16 weeks). He might get put back on prednisone in the meantime. It's a nightmare! I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow. It's so hard seeing him in pain and fighting with him to eat, drink and take his meds. Thanks for asking about him.
Just read your response to catwhiskers - thinking of your son and hope they can soon get his pain under control.
Fantastic photo - looks like you might have waited in a hide for 3 days to get such a perfect shot.
That is one incredible shot. How amazing to have managed it whilst on the phone, and probably feelling pretty exhausted and overwhelmed from the sound of things. I hope seeing these fantastic results cheered you a little (but hope even more that there is a solution for your son not too far away).
what a fabulous image - and all the more so under the circumstances. am very much hoping things will improve for your son - it sounds awful for you all
Hope your son’s doing ok!
Talking on a cell phone and taking a photograph, your awesome Kim!
Hope you were getting good news!

I'm sorry to hear your son is still struggling . I hope you start to see some light at the end of the tunnel soon.
Hope your son's meds start to work and he feels better very soon.
