Age of Discoveries

This GIANT monument is on the river front in the beautiful Belem area of Lisbon. We paid 5 euros and went to the top for an amazing view. Check out the link so you can see it in fill to grasp the size. I saw it from the airplane when we flew into the city - it's that big!!

I remember this well from my only ever trip to Lisbon over 35 years ago. It was my first independent overseas trip and there was so much to see. We visited Sintra too - I would love to return.
