After 6 days in Portugal's largest cities (Lisbon & Porto) we picked up a rental car (our first time driving in Europe) and headed south to the beautiful Algarve area. Our hotel was on the beach at Praia da Roche in Portimea which was across the river from the quaint fishing village of Ferragudo. We went exploring our first night in the area. There were narrow alleys with whitewashed homes and lots of pretty flowers.
