Arbutus Tree

While hiking yesterday (see previous day's photo) we passed many arbutus trees. I just love the look of their shedding bark.

I'm off on another adventure early tomorrow and won't be home until Saturday. I'm hoping to post but I won't have time to comment - sorry! We're heading to Portland, Oregon via the coast. We've never been before. If you have any suggestions/tips please let me know.

I learn that the Arbutus tree is Canada's only native broad leafed evergreen tree! The bark is certainly incredible and a lovely colour!

This is amazing! We loved the food trucks in downtown Portland. The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is amazing. We also enjoyed visiting Willamette Valley, visiting some great wineries. You will have a wonderful time!
